A Makeup Artists version of Celtic Gods, Goddesses & festivals.

Like any artist I like to express my beliefs through my work. For me this manifests itself through styled shoots and collaborations, where I have full creative power to use the makeup to tell my story.

These are the projects I have completed thus far. However, there are many more in progress, so please reach out if you are interested in collaborating.

Her name is Elen of the Ways.

Follow her path, in the tracks of the deer as they walk the sacred routes.

Or the rivers flowing along ancient channels, bringing her energy throughout the land.

Call on her to protect your journey and give thanks as she guides you.

Bran the Blessed. King of the island of the mighty.

Bran (Raven) was a giant King of Wales, who waded over the Irish sea to save his imprisoned sister Branwen (White Raven) from her Husband, Matholwch the King of Ireland.

A mighty King, in battle he lay across a river forming a bridge for his army.

Alas he was wounded with a poisoned dart. He gave instructions for his head to be taken back home, there to be buried looking out to sea and waiting for when we next need him.

A God of war, he is closely linked with The Morrigan and is seen as a bridge (linking back to the bridge for his army) between the two worlds.

The Morrigan.

The Morrigan is the Goddess of death and war

She is frightening, but she is life too.

She is ever present as the crow. when you see her shout 'Hail Morrigan' into the wind, as you are in the presence of the Great Goddess.

She is with us as the leaves die and winter takes hold, reminding us that in nature death is necessary for re-birth to happen.

Do not fear her, for one day we shall all embrace her!

Yule.

Midwinter/ Winter Solstice/ Alban Arthan

This is the time of the longest night. When darkness is at its zenith and the world feels cold and empty.

But underneath the Great Goddesses frosty cloak new life stirs.

Light now starts to slowly return and though the Holly may be King, the Oak will return to rule again soon.

Light a candle to symbolise the return of the sun. Go outside to welcome him back.

Make a Yule log to symbolise the brightness and warmth of his rays.

But most importantly, remember that out of darkness comes light.

though it may seem hard now it won't last.

The Cailleach.

Known as the Crone and Winter Goddess.

She brings in the cold and dark of the winter months at Samhain (what has been taken over as Halloween) and watches over the land until the first stirrings of spring (Imbolc 1st February).

The Crone is also a name placed on older women to show age and supposed frailty.

But she is far from frail and is possibly one of the strongest and feared of the Celtic Gods.

Be strong like the Crone and show the world your true power!
